The APD Awards will be held for the first time to determine the best in Asian package design!

APD Awards Screening, Prize Winning Works

The APD Awards is the inaugural international award that selects the most outstanding package design in Asia. This will be a congregation of package design professionals and a showcase of the finest works in Asia.
At APD, we will also be introducing the latest trends and topics related to package design in the participating regions, namely South Korea, Shanghai, Taiwan, Japan and Thailand.
Through the APD Awards, we aim to enhance interaction between designers and companies in the package design industry.

Registration / Screening

About Registration

Registrants for APD Nara 2021 who have upload their works will automatically have their works entered and screened for the APD Awards.

Only package design works are eligible for the APD Awards.

The APD Awards are open to packaged works that have been released between November 2017 and October 2021, or conceptual works (creative packages) created during the same period.

About Judging

A total of ten entries, two from each organization, will be given awards.
Awards and merits will be decided based on the number of votes from a panel of jury representing each Association(KPDA / SPTA / TPDA / JPDA / ThaiPDA).

Award- and merit- winning works will be announced on the APD website (tentatively on November 11).

GRAND PRIZE, GOLD AWARD, SILVER AWARD and BRONZE AWARD will be announced on the day of APD.

Merit winners will receive a certificate. Award winners will receive a certificate and a trophy.

Judging Criteria

Please respect the local features of the works and judge fairly based on the following criteria:
1. Innovation: High level of originality that defines conventions
2. Aesthetics: Aesthetically pleasing beauty that forms attachment with users
3. Social and Environmental Responsibility: A comprehensive and sustainable approach that considers environmental impact of materials used and influence on society
